Rubies shine bright at netball tournament   On Sunday 3rd July our Rubies Netball team played in a tournament at Te Pai Courts. The first game against Matipo was hard, but we were strong and played our best. We won 15 - 8! The next game was against Henderson North. I felt lucky, the score was 17-6, they had great defence but we were better, and won again. Now it was time for a well-earned break, we sat in the middle of court 2 talking but then we saw people sitting up stairs so we went up and we were allowed. Our coach and manager went to the coach and managers room - they brought back cupcakes, sandwiches and soup - they loved it, but time was up, it was time for us to go to the next game. Round 4 against Marina All Stars. WOW! WEE! What a game, they just took us and chucked us up and down the court, they were making us just want to go home, the score was 25-11 but we tried our hardest. They were too good. The last round was against Oratia Tristars. We were just shooting so many goals it was amazing. The score in the end was 18-6 to us. We were just angry we lost the last game! Next we headed back to our bags and our coach went and got our prize for Runners up. The prize was a nice looking sports bag and really nice towels for our team. It was an amazing experience and everyone just loved it, and we all left with a smile on our faces. By Emma Kelly
