FORS – Who we are
F.O.R.S – Friends of Rutherford School is a registered P.T.A. and non-profit organisation. We are a group of fun, like-minded parents and teachers, that support the school in a variety of ways, with a specific focus on fundraising.
FORS reflect our school values of whanau, community, and accentuating the positive. Our ultimate aim is to enhance the learning environment of our children, and support events that enable our children to reach their full potential.
FORS – When we meet
FORS meet once a year for our official Annual General Meeting. Then twice per term, in a relaxed and informal environment, which encourages a fun but effective approach to achieving our goals. These meetings plan the activities for each term, and focus on group ownership of all events.
FORS – How else you can help
Not everyone can, or likes to be on a committee, but there are many ways you can support FORS in a practical fashion. We have many events that require manpower – baking, sausage sizzles; and other requirements like sourcing prizes, delivering flyers etc. We appreciate any help and support you can provide – as the old saying goes – many hands make light work.
FORS – Why it’s fun
FORS is a fun way to meet other parents and teachers, and is actively inclusive with a no pressure policy, ensuring we all enjoy the experience of being part of FORS, and supporting our children. Involved parents are awesome role models for our children.
FORS – How to contact us
FORS meetings are listed in the newsletter and on the school website, along with a list of upcoming events. If you are interested in supporting in any way, please email fors@rutherfordprimary.school.nz, or download our pdf and drop it into the school office.
